Delivery in greater Austin area at no additional charge. Flush Cut Pull Saw I've tried them all. If I had just one tool for working with boo, this would be the one. The 6.5" replaceable blade sports 26 teeth per inch. This lady makes ultra-smooth, beautiful cuts. No splintering. Will fell a culm faster and with less effort than pruning saws. (Four quick cuts around the diameter of the culm--SNAP) Perfect for everything from debraching to crafts. $17.00 Also have a rugged $10 model, wooden handle.
Serrated Scythe - Sickle $5.00 6 1/5 blade. When I have a lot of small culms to remove I prefer to slice them with one hand while gathering the culms in the other. Economizes on movement over using other tools. I’ve had no problem severing ½” culms. This tool comes in handy when chasing rhizomes. Slip it underneath a rhizome, pull back to cut, then begin pulling the rhizome out. When the rhizome stops coming, scratch down at that point. You’ll usually find another rhizome traveling over the top of the one you’re pulling. Insert, cut repeat. Easier than picking up and putting down loppers, pruning shears, shovel or dynamite when removing rhizomes. Use to separate viable rhizomes out of a rootball. Increases efficiency of propagation. In one case I potted 30 plants out of a 10 gal. rootball.
